Eastern Culture vs Western Culture

Throughout history, our world has hosted countless cultures. In this world where hundreds of countries are located, the social and cultural structures of the countries are also diverse. This diversity gives each country its own advantages and differences. generally, cultures have their own traditions and customs. The most noteworthy of these cultures is Eastern and Western culture. Although these two cultures bear some remarkable similarities in cultural interactions over time, there are also great differences between them.

Eastern and Western culture resemble each other in a few attributes. Firstly, architectural structures are of great importance in both cultures. The constructions in these cultures are dazzling and fascinating and there are also centuries-old historical buildings. Secondly, music and dance have an important place in both cultures. Music and dance is the best way for countries to interact with each other. Therefore, these two cultures share a common point of music and dance.

In spite of these similarities, a comparison between Eastern culture and Western culture demonstrates some significant differences. First, the people in eastern countries are more traditional than those in the West when we consider their rituals and clothing. For instance, Indians pay respect to their elders by touching their feet; East Asians use bows as greetings, apologizing and thanking. People who embrace Western cultures also have traditional clothes, but they prefer not to wear their clothes in everyday life, only wear on special occasions. Furthermore, they differ from the religious perspective. Eastern culture differs greatly in terms of religious beliefs. Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism are some of the common religions. In Western cultures, there is not as much variety as that in eastern culture. These differences distinguish the two cultures from one another.

All in all, there are both similarities such as architectural building and music and dance, but there are two major differences like social life and religion between Eastern culture and Western culture. If I had the chance to choose between the two of them, I would have had difficulty in choosing because the two cultures have their own very special differences.
