Eating is an activity that we as humans do at least two times a day. We live in a world where the variety of food is immense, and we are responsible for what we eat. We decide what we are about to eat and how it will affect our bodies. At this point arises the problem of what food is beneficial to our body. In other words, eating fresh foods differs from canned foods in flavor, health benefits, and price.

The most notable difference between these two kinds of foods is their flavor. Fresh foods have great flavor and taste since they maintain all their natural conditions, whereas canned foods are devoid of numerous flavor characteristics. This stems from the fact that there are some chemical substances added to the canned foods. It is, therefore, logical that the fresh foods will have a greater taste and flavor when consumed just after they have been prepared.

As for health benefits, fresh fruits are more preferable than canned foods now that canned ones lose some of the original fresh food nutrients when stored. Besides, canned foods have to be tinned with many conservatives and chemical factors prolonging their shelf life and apparent freshness of the food, which may result in poisoning if consumed too often.

Last but not the least, one of the remarkable differences between fresh foods and canned ones is their price. Even though canned foods require less work to prepare, they are much more costly than fresh foods. That is why certain people can afford to buy tinned foods although they are convenient, that is to say, they are easy to find everywhere.

To sum up, flavor, health benefits, and price are three major differences between fresh foods and canned foods. Namely, personal choices based on the time each person has, people’s budget, and the importance given to nutrition and health play an important role in food preference. For this reason, it is essential that people should consider present possibilities and choose the best type of food for their convenience and lifestyle.
