The Effects of the Dardanelles Campaign

For centuries, many countries which have existed throughout history have somehow taken part in wars willingly or willy-nilly. Even, some of the wars predestinated the countries, one of which is Turkey, struggling in the Dardanelles Campaign. The Dardanelles Campaign was won by Turks on 18th of March, 1915. Like most wars, the Dardanelles Campaign has had outstanding impacts on politics, the entente states, and the central powers of the war.

The Dardanelles Campaign has got three important political impacts. The first effect is that the campaign recovered and refreshed the dignity of the Ottoman State, which was shaken with Balkan Wars. The second one is that the Ottoman State demonstrated its power to the world at a time when he was called “a sick man” by the West. The third impact is that this state influenced the attitude of the communites which had not crusaded yet. In brief, the Dardanelles Campaign was a great Turkish triumph against imperialist western countries.

As for entente states like England, France,  Italy, Greece, and so forth were influenced negatively after their debacle in the Gallipoli Campaign. The first effect was that the growth of England which discases the world domination, and wants to handle from one-hard ceased in Çanakkale. Moreover, its domination and power over colonies were shaken. The second effect was that the war casualty started to give France a deep shock, so worker and soldier riots started. The third effect was that Italy had been provided a giant amount of its wheat need from Russia before the straits was blocked off to Russia, so Russia could not arrive Italy during the war and thus bread shortage in Italy turned out. Besides, socialistic transactions started to get strong. The fourth effect was that as America crusaded afterwards. and the war was made out of its own country, that they lost the war did not overpower America. Even, America’s industrial commodities went up. Namely, the war enabled America to prosper and get stronger. In short, the war caused England to get shocked, led to riots in France, brought famine to Italy, and resulted in a stronger America.

The German Empire, the Austria-Hungary Empire, the Ottoman Empire, and Kingdom of Bulgaria were situated in the central powers, and most of them procured good results from the war. The first impact is that the German front got strong, but that the war stretched enhanced domestic quarrels in Germany. The second impact is that the Ottoman Empire’s regard increased.In addition, the won war influenced national liberation opinion. Briefly, the acquired campaign took effects that German gets stronger, in the Ottoman Empire’s regard, and that the national liberation opinion is formed.

To sum up, the Dardanelles Campaign deeply affected the politics of that time, the entente states, and the central powers of the war. Its impacts on politics are that the Ottoman Empire braces, that Turkey’s power and might recovers, and that the communites keeping out the campaign’s attitude. Also, the war yielded results shocking England, caused riots in France, famine in Italy, and a more powerful US. Finally, the won war induced German to get stronger, in the Ottoman Empire’s regard, and to be formed the national liberation opinion is formed. The Dardanelles Campaign is one of  the unforgettable bravery of Turks and showed the world that Çanakkale will be surrendered nevermore!
