The European Union offers its member countries certain advantages in the field of education, health, and democracy once a country joins it unconditionally. Common currency, development policies like improvement in the judiciary system, and income distributions are basic requirements to join the EU. In this regard, since Turkey now has the capability to produce its own tanks, helicopters and warships, it is being discussed whether it should join the EU or not. The admission to the EU will demand Turkey give up its own production capacity and be imposed to purchase European products, which may lead to Turkey’s economic decline. I strongly believe that joining the EU will not benefit Turkey in many ways.
