Living in a big city VERSUS Living in a country

About 335 million years ago, Pangea came together by collecting from earlier continental fragments. After the creation of plants and animals, the first humans appeared. While this whole process was going on, as a result of the conventional movements of the world, the whole single landmass called Pangea was split into pieces. People settled according to their location. For example, while those who settled in the irrigated area were engaged in agriculture, those who settled in the pasture area were engaged in animal husbandry. As time evolved, some regions developed more than others, and the region with the majority of this population was called a city. The city and the countryside have different chances in terms of job opportunities, cost of living, education conditions and environment. Although there are conspicuous differences between living in the big city and living in the country, they bear diverse things in common.

Living in the big city differs from living in the country in terms of the life opportunities it offers us. To begin with, the primary difference between these living conditions is job opportunities. In the big city, while there are many professions fed by technology such as data analysis, digital marketing, artificial intelligence and robotics engineers, from software developers who write software for banks, companies and various units by writing various codes, on the contrary, in rural areas, occupations such as agriculture and animal husbandry, which are mostly based on manpower and lack technology common.  In the second place, unlike the rural areas, in the big city, there is not only primary school, secondary school, and high school, but also there are various courses provided by the university and even the government. For example, there are hundreds of other courses where people can engage in various activities such as taekwondo courses, and guitar courses so that they can spend time on their hobbies in their spare time. There are even college preparation courses that allow smart tablet use, in addition to many classrooms equipped with smart boards.

Despite these differences, there are also remarkable similarities between living in a big city and living in the country. First of all, as Mark Zuckerberg said, “With globalization, the world has become a huge village.”. Although there were obvious differences before the 2000s, the traditional local people were replaced by the luxury and comfortable life, which is also the preference of people living in big cities. Thus, manpower-based jobs such as animal husbandry and agriculture were abandoned, and people living in rural areas began to prefer ready-made products, just like people in urban life. Moreover, with the introduction of technology into the home, women who work on farms and do household chores from morning to night have been replaced by products such as robot vacuums and dishwashers, causing a lazy generation to grow up and ending the lifestyle we call rural life from the earth.

All things considered, there are differences between rural life and life in the big city; however, there are striking similarities between rural life and city life brought about by today’s globalization. As seen with globalization, can we say that there is only one lifestyle now that the difference between village and city life has decreased to such an extent that there is no difference? As long as this process works like this, I firmly believe that it is inevitable to live a lifestyle that we can call the only way of life, even if it is not a style lived like it was about 335 million years ago.
