Computers with the internet connect people all around the world. People use the internet for various things, such as governmental work, personal or public communication, information sharing, and social network. Even if people are far away from each other, they get into touch easily through the internet. Despite these, in my opinion, the internet is abused by people, and this causes irretrievable damages for them.
The internet is used for governmental work, so every official task can be fulfilled very quickly. Besides, a great deal of information can be stored in big computers or servers by the internet. Therefore, people have access to information everywhere in the world. In other words, everything is just a click away for them. Contrary to these good sides, the internet is also very harmful. For example, in the 21th century people have thousands of social networking sites and they like uploading everything about themselves to these websites, so their credit card debts, private photos, love affairs, and so on get known by everyone. For this reason, malevolent people can use such information to blackmail them. Although there are security programs, with the rapidly changing technology it is very difficult to keep private life safe in the cyber world.
On the internet, there are a lot of websites for information, videos, shopping, and music. Everything is at hand there. For instance, people are able to get whatever information they want and they have the chance to download music or videos. They can communicate with other people by means of the internet even if they live in other countries. However, most of these are used unnecessarily or balefully. First, at some shopping websites, imaginary products are on sale and customers who buy them with credit card are swindled. Second, internet users prefer obtaining pirate CDs or DVDs. Third, on the internet there are illegal and immoral videos, musical pieces, or texts. Most importantly, the internet is very harmful for especially you users since they are an easy touch for professional deceivers.
In conclusion, the harm of the internet is more than its benefits. People had better use a special firewall and the government should work on this issue more. In my opinion these problems can be overcome by education, or else humans will go on getting harmed on the internet.
