There are a large number of factors necessary for the development of individuals. Education is one of these factors. As is known, education consists of several stages like primary school, secondary school, high school and university. All the stages of education are important but in the information age, university education comes forward since it is the beginning of building a career and then leading a more decent life. In comparison with other European countries, Turkey lies at the bottom in the ranking of university graduates. The proportion of university graduates in Turkey, according to the research by TUIK is 20.8%. Although, some people underestimate university education, I strongly believe that it is necessary for everyone to improve themselves in many ways, to socialize, and to find a good job.
The first reason why I think university education is necessary for everyone is that people improve themselves in many ways thanks to the university education. Firstly, people can improve themselves in foreign languages thanks to the university. As an illustration, when you start university, you can improve yourself in the foreign language by studying optional or compulsory preparatory class. Besides, the university provides the opportunity to participate in foreign language development programs in abroad. If you get the required grade in the relevant exams, you can go to abroad and learn a language. Lastly, people can improve themselves in terms of academic knowledge thanks to the university. For example, when you go to the university, you attend history, physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics lessons. In these lessons, you can learn many different information and you can increase your general knowledge level. In summary, I think people should go to university to improve themselves in many ways.
Another reason why I think university education is necessary for everyone is socializing. To begin with, university allows you to build a good circle of friends. To illustrate, when you go to university, you study with people comes from other cities or even comes from abroad. In this way, you can build good friendships. Secondly, the university offers you the opportunity to participate in many social, artistic, scientific ,and sporting activities. Finally, the university helps you to improve your communication skills. For instance, if you are a student in the university , you can join school teams such as football, basketball, volleyball, handball, and so on. If you do not want to join these teams, you can participate in various artistic or scientific activities. To cite an example, you have to do some presentation assignments in the crowded class at university. This helps you to be a more confident person and explain easily what you want to say to the other person in daily life. In brief, I think university education is necessary for everyone to socializing.
The last reason why I think university education is necessary for everyone is finding a good job. First of all, you can create a good CV thanks to the university. To exemplify, you add your certificate and your university professors as a reference to your CV. In this way, you can find a good job more easily. Secondly, the university provides you theoretical knowledge about your future profession. To illustrate, you can learn theoretical information about your future profession in university lessons. What is more, you can learn practical information and gain experience by doing an internship. This helps you to find a good job. In short, I think everyone should go to university to find a good job.
In conclusion, even though some people think that university education is not necessary, I think university education is necessary for everyone to improve themselves in many ways, to socializing, and to find a good job. As Benjamin Franklin said, “Uneducated genius is like raw silver.”
